Assistant Category Manager – Facilities Services

 

Purpose and Scope/General Summary: We are looking for anAssistant Category Manager for JBS Global Procurement that reports onsite to the corporate office in Greeley, Colorado.

 

Reporting to the Global Procurement Category Manager of Facilities Services and Chemicals, the Assistant Category Manager is responsible for supporting the sourcing and management of global chemical producers and service providers and ensures all business requirements are included in category strategies. The Assistant Category Manager role is critical in supporting sourcing through category strategy creation, supplier identification, selection, and negotiation to ensure the highest level of service and quality of supply. The Assistant Category Manager will build strong working relationships with key suppliers and internal stakeholders through facilitating the day-to-day operations of the category.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Support various Business Units and the Global Procurement Teams in the sourcing process to ensure category strategies and supplier selection conform to business requirements.
  • Assist the Global Category Manager on scenario analysis and contract management.
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams, including Food Safety and Quality Assurance, Operations, Sanitation, and Sustainability to qualify materials and suppliers, identify value creation opportunities, and lead sourcing initiatives.
  • Conduct internal and external market research analysis to optimize sourcing decisions and keep stakeholders informed of key market impacts.
  • Assist in the implementation of risk mitigation strategies for critical supplies and services by developing secondary supply options, favorable contract language, and new opportunities.
  • Facilitate supplier negotiations, author master service/supply agreements and statements of work (SOWs) for execution.
  • Interact with plant operations to ensure optimal compliance of negotiated contracts.
  • Perform spend analytics and identify sourcing levers to meet cost reduction initiatives.
  • Own and manage supplier relationship and performance, resolve performance issues, pursue financial claims; conduct formal supplier performance reviews with key strategic suppliers.
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, Engineering or related field preferred
  • 3+ years of experience in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or related fields
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively interact in a cross-functional team environment
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Effective written and oral communications skills
  • Understanding of supply/commodity markets a plus
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Fluency in English required, and Spanish is preferred
  • Can perform the functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation

The applicant who fills this position will be eligible for the following compensation and benefits:

  • Benefits: Vision, Medical, and Dental coverage begin after 60 days of employment;
  • Paid Time Off: sick leave, vacation, and 6 company observed holidays;
  • 401(k): company match begins after the first year of service and follows the company vesting schedule;
  • Base salary range of $65,000-$85,000;
  • Incentive Pay: This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s annual bonus plan, the amount of bonus varies and is subject to the standard terms and conditions of the incentive program; and
