Under the close supervision of an Employment Program Manager I and the direct guidance of an Employment Program Representative, Range B or above, as the YEOP mentor, and after on-the-job training, student assistants will provide services to youth designated as at-risk. Student assistants will: case manage clients through peer advising, refer clients to training, education providers, and supportive services, provide educational guidance and career awareness, provide employment preparation assistance and job referrals, conduct YEOP workshops and outreach, present YEOP services to the local community, schools, community based organizations (CBO), partner and employer groups to recruit clients, promote the program, and solicit support. The student assistant will ensure that all clients are registered in CalJOBS and that program services provided are recorded in CalJOBS. The student assistant will maintain client case folders by adhering to guidelines in the YEOP manual.
Student Assistants represent the Employment Development Department (EDD) and the Youth Employment Opportunity Program at local high school and college special events, career days and job fairs.
This position may work up to 1,500 hours in a 12 consecutive month period. EDD offers flexible scheduling during operating hours designed with your educational success in mind. EDD operating hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Must be between the ages of 15-25 and enrolled in high school, attending college or equivalent carrying a minimum of six semester or eight quarter units.
Position is located in San Bernardino, CA. The incumbent for this position must be willing and able to work at any of the three given AJCC's within the Rancho Cucamonga Cluster to include: San Bernardino, Rancho Cucamonga, and Victorville.

This position requires local in-person workload, though some telework may be available.
