Technical Writer – Stafford, VA

Alexandria Insights is seeking a mid-level Technical Writer, with a strong background developing technical publications for the Marine Corps Systems.

Duties include:

• Develop and review Technical Publications [Technical Manuals (TMs), Repair Parts and Special Tools Lists (RPSTL), Stock Lists, Instruction Type publications, etc.] in accordance with (IAW) current versions of MIL-DTL-28999D, MIL-HDBK-2361, MIL-STD-31000B, MIL-STD-38784B, and MIL-STD-40051/1-1D.
• Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts, Systems Engineers, and Logistics Analysts to develop and publish technical publications.
• Participate in 30/60/90 percent peer reviews, TM validations/verifications, and other customer designated events to ensure technical publication quality and schedule compliance. Participation in these events may require travel.
• Participate in Group, Functional, Team, and Integrated Product Team (IPT) activities as required.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Arts Degree in English with an emphasis on technical and professional writing, or equivalent, with 5 to 9 years of relevant experience; +5 additional years combination of education, professional training, or relevant work experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.
• Demonstrate a high level of proficiency with Microsoft Word and Adobe software.
• Ability to work independently, collaboratively, and within IPTs in physical and virtual settings.
• Proficient with MS Office products, SharePoint, and TEAMS.
• Strong oral and written communication, analytical, and critical thinking capabilities.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills, “go-getter” attitude, and a passion for the Marine Corps mission.
• Ability to obtain a DoD SECRET clearance is required.
• Technical or hands-on user experience with military systems is highly beneficial.

Salary range: $75K - $95K
